Episode 3: Izmir, Turkey

Ok, it's the last recording from Turkey. This time it is out the window of our hotel in Izmir, Turkey.

Now, I really like Izmir. It was actually my favorite place we went. Izmir is about 8 hours south of Istanbul by drive.  It is still a larger city, but it has a much slower pace.  We had a chance to interview a few friends while we were there, and visit a lot of their friends.

The coolest part about this area were the people.  They probably had the closest to my idea of southern hospitality that I have ever seen, anywhere.  Every store you go into, you meet a new friend. This is with any store, carpet, clothing, trinkets, it doesn't matter.  If you are there for more than 5 minutes, they show you their hospitality by offering you tea. Boy was I in heaven, not only was it tea, but sweet tea.

Anyway, onto the sounds.  Our hotel was about 1 mile out of town, next to a water park. Now the water park was not open, but you can hear some of the different things happening on the edge of town.
